HISTORY

Little is known about Dr. Thaava's life, beyond being recognized as Slyggia's foremost expert on Xenobiology.

In personal matters, Thaava was engaged in a joint courtship with Green Lantern Salaak, but ultimately ended the relationship, deeming Salaak too emotional.

Professionally, Thaava was recommended by Green Lantern Salaak to treat the critically wounded New God, Orion. This intervention, however, presented a grave risk: the Nth Metal golem relentlessly pursuing Orion would destroy Slyggia if it continued to sense Orion's life. The golem's destructive pursuit was tied directly to Orion's continued existence.

Thaava had designed an Artificial Blood Circulation Engine to take the place of Orion's heart and proposed Kyle Rayner create the engine as a ring construct so they could remove Orion's heart and trick the golem into believing its target was deceased. Orion was taken to Mogo for observation, and they were able to restore Orion's heart once the threat of the golem was resolved. Thaava stayed as medical staff for the Green Lantern Corps at John Stewart's request.

The medical expertise was needed on numerous occasions, and Thaava was instrumental in saving the lives of Kyle Rayner, John Stewart and numerous other Lanterns.

Tragically, Thaava could not save the life of Guardian Kada Sal who was slain in part of a plan of the Cyborg Superman. Thaava was seriously injured in one of the later attacks and has not been seen since
