The Black Spider in this story is unnamed. In prior continuity, three different individuals used the name "Black Spider". It is not yet known if this Black Spider is one of these people or a brand-new character.
The new Suicide Squad is tortured by unknown assailants, but refuse to give up their mission - except for Savant - who tells the true nature of the team to the attackers. However, the torture was a test - and the team minus Savant are sent on their first mission by Amanda Waller.
