HISTORY
Just as Earth is protected by super-heroic defenders, so are other worlds in the universe. One such world is Thronn, which orbits star-sun Rhythum. The Honor Team of Thronn was always triumphant in their battles until the coming of Vant Orl.
The alien invader quickly defeated the heroes and imprisoned them on Memal, Thronn's artificial moon. Trapped inside a device known as an "ergal prism", the heroes were rendered inert, barely alive.
One day, Energiman felt a flood of high frequency energy surging through his energy body. He probed through hyperspace to find it was Green Lantern Hal Jordan recharging his power ring which unwittingly transferred power to him on distant Memal. Each time Jordan charged the ring, Energiman would grow stronger. Eventually, Energiman had enough power he could pull the GReen Lantern through the power battery to Memal, though it cost Energiman his life to do so.
The Emerald Gladiator tried without success to free the Honor Team from the Ergal Prism. Though his power ring was not strong enough to break the barrier, Jordan vowed to use it to defeat Vant Orl. Energiman would not have died in vain.
Vant Orl threw everything he had at Green Lantern. He pummelled the emerald crusader with giant replicas of atomic particles and taunted his enemy with telepathic messages. Green Lantern eventually realized Vant Orl was using his own formidible will power to slow down the emerald warrior's commands to the power ring.
Once he knew Vant Orl's plan, Green Lantern was able to use the ring's own weakness against yellow to block the alien's messsages. Though defeated, Vant Orl was savoring a bit of revenge on the heroes of Thronn. When Green Lantern destroyed the villain's fortress, he had also destroyed the only machine in existence that could release the heroes from the Ergal Prism.
Vant Orl had once more underestimated the emerald warrior. The might of the power ring was strong enough to shatter the prison and free the remaining heroes.
Green Lantern told the Honor Team of Thronn the valiant efforts of their fallen comrade, Energiman. They promised that Energiman would always be revered for his heroism. Green Lantern promised to to ask the Guardians of the Universe to appoint a Green Lantern for their area of space. The heroes believed one of the Corps would be a fitting replacement for their late friend, Energiman.[1]
As of this writing, it is not known if the Guardians had ever chosen a Green Lantern from Thronn. The current activities of the Honor Team of Thronn have yet to be revealed.
