HISTORY

The Gloom are a collective of survivors originating from as many as six different worlds. These planets were destroyed years prior, caught in the wake of the bounty hunter Bolphunga's relentless pursuit of his quarry. Disillusioned with the Green Lantern Corps, these survivors sacrificed their physical forms, uploading their consciousnesses into new, warrior bodies.

Bolphunga was captured on Earth, where the Gloom sentenced him to death. However, the execution was interrupted by the intervention of Green Lantern Hal Jordan.

POWERS AND WEAPONS

The warrior bodies of the Gloom have been observed to possess great strength and the ability to survive interstellar space. The Gloom wield an unidentified type of energy rifle and ride what appears to be a techno-organic "surfboard."
